Overview

Céline Aka is an Associate in the International Arbitration Group in New York. Her practice includes international commercial and investment arbitration with broad experience across a number of sectors.

In addition to her international arbitration practice, Céline has also been active in representing pro bono clients in a variety of civil rights matters. She was awarded the White & Case pro-bono award in 2017 and 2018.

Experience

Céline's recent experience includes:

Representing an Eastern European State in pending ICSID arbitration proceedings relating to investments in the country's electricity sector;

Representing a European construction company in an ICC arbitration regarding the construction of a hydroelectric project in Chile and including issues regarding the involvement of a non-signatory corporate parent;

Advising a privately owned Western European company in pending ICDR-AAA arbitration proceedings involving a breach of contract related to the production and distribution of natural gas;

Advising a French independent software vendor on the possible legal claims it could bring against an international organization and the possible legal claim that could be brought against it;

Serving as a member of a team that handles all international pre-litigation and litigation for Facebook, including matters implicating technology-related issues, such as privacy, defamation, and hosting provider liability.
