Biography

Dario Valoncini is a funds and investment management associate in our global Private Equity practice based in London.

Dario provides strategic guidance to fund managers and investors across various alternative asset classes. His expertise includes secondaries, co-investments, and complex LP matters, covering transactions like portfolio sales, stapled offerings, fund restructurings, and GP-led initiatives. Furthermore, Dario frequently advises on the structuring, formation, offering, and ongoing operation of private investment funds.

Dario joined White & Case in 2024, and was previously in the London investment funds practice of another U.S. law firm. Dario previously practiced at leading international law firms in Toronto and Milan.

Experience

Experience includes:

Advised Blue Earth on a GP-led secondary process to acquire shares in Moniepoint, Inc., Africa’s first unicorn in the banking industry.

Advised Committed Advisors on its acquisition of a large portfolio of fund interests from Peugeot Invest, the Peugeot family office, for €227 million.

Advised an Asian real estate alternative investment manager on the establishment of a $46 million Cayman-domiciled continuation vehicle, enabling the transfer of real estate assets in Macau and Thailand. The transaction involved reinvestment by the sponsor and attracted additional investors.

Advised a global private markets firm on acquiring a majority stake in a Spanish hospitality platform, in partnership with a mid-market private equity firm. The company operates 25 hotels with around 5,100 rooms in key Spanish tourist destinations.*

Advised Partners Group, one of the largest firms in the global private markets industry, on its CAD 1.8 billion investment in eStruxture Data Centers, the largest Canadian data center platform, acquiring a stake alongside an increased investment from existing sponsor Fengate Asset Management.*

Advised Blue Earth Capital AG, the specialist global impact investor, on its acquisition through its investment vehicles of partial interest in three funds across Africa and Asia from British International Investment (BII), the UK's Development Finance Institution (DFI), an impact investor.*

Advised a Dutch pension fund in the divestiture of a portfolio valued at around $2 billion, successfully navigating negotiations with multiple secondary buyers.*

Advised AlpInvest in a secondary purchase of a portfolio of interest from a Swedish pension fund and negotiated staple primary commitment as part of the same transaction.*

Advised a sovereign investor in multiple co-investment transactions spanning diverse asset classes.*

Advised a Swiss global impact investment in a multi-asset continuation fund established by a venture capital firm focused on alternative energy, mobility, and sustainability.*

Advised leading global private markets firm Partners Group, acting on behalf of its clients, on its investment in Sterling Pharma Solutions.*

Advised Partners Group in a large number of secondaries transactions including GP-led solutions, fund restructurings, portfolio sales and other liquidity solutions.*

Advised a sovereign investor in a secondary purchase of two portfolios of interests from a large Swiss investment manager.*

Advised a sovereign investor in a secondary purchase of a portfolio of interest from a UK pension fund.*

Advised Committed Advisors in its purchase of a portfolio of fund interests from an independent Swiss wealth and asset manager.*

Advised Committed Advisors in its purchase of a portfolio of fund interests from a US pension fund.*
