Biography

Declan is an Associate in White & Case's global litigation practice, based in Sydney, Australia. His practice covers a broad range of commercial disputes, with a strong focus on the construction and infrastructure sectors.

Declan has experience acting for a diverse range of clients, including owners, contractors, consultants and public sector institutions across a range of major projects in commercial and residential development, transport infrastructure and energy sectors. He has extensive experience acting for clients in litigation before various Australian courts, as well as in arbitrations, adjudications and alternative dispute resolution forums.

Prior to joining White & Case, Declan was a lawyer at a national law firm.

Experience

Acting for a leading Australian multi-disciplinary construction company in an arbitration relating to alleged defects affecting a social infrastructure public private partnership project in Victoria.*

Acting for a national Tier 1 construction company in a contractual dispute relating to completion, delay and design issues affecting an industrial facility in Melbourne.*

Acting for a Victorian State Government Department in the Supreme Court of Victoria in a contractual dispute involving a major civil works contractor.*

Acting for a major aged care and community services provider in defending a complex adjudication application brought by a head contractor under the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 2002 (Vic) relating to the completion of an aged care facility.*
