Biography

Edred Richardson is an associate in White & Case's litigation and regulatory practice groups, where his practice spans cross-border litigation, competition, corporate compliance, US-agency disputes and finance. Edred has represented tech and social media clients in cross-border litigations involving data disputes and regulatory compliance, as well as Fortune 500 companies in domestic disputes relating to antitrust, IP disputes, and bankruptcy proceedings involving large chapter 11 cases. Notably, Edred has advocated on behalf of tech companies through amici briefs filed before Federal Courts and the US Supreme Court. In addition to Edred's litigation practice, Edred has also represented sovereign clients engaged in investor-state disputes before international arbitration tribunals.

As part of Edred's regulatory practice, Edred also advises clients through proper corporate compliance with respect to M&A transactions, as well as energy and infrastructure finance. Edred also advises tech and social media companies through proper regulatory compliance with specific attention to data privacy laws in North America and Europe, particularly with respect to the GDPR, DSA and various EU privacy laws and corporate regulations.

Prior to joining White & Case, Edred earned his J.D. from Cornell University Law School specializing in Public International Law. At Cornell, Edred was the Editor-in-Chief of the Cornell International Law Journal. Edred has also studied at the Panthéon-Sorbonne University where he focused on French and European Law.
