Biography

Overview

Gabrielle Mistry is an associate in White & Case's Global Commercial Litigation Practice. She has a broad practice in complex cross-border commercial litigation and international arbitration, with particular focus on clients in the financial services, mining and technology sectors. Gabrielle is also experienced in contentious regulatory matters, including advising on investigations by UK and European regulators.

In the energy space, Gabrielle has acted for mining conglomerates and multinational oil and gas companies in ICC and LCIA arbitrations. Most recently, she has defended Vale S.A. in TCC litigation following the 2015 Fundão Dam collapse in Brazil, considered to be the largest group action ever brought in the English High Court. Gabrielle's work in the technology sector has seen her advise on matters relating to the growing regulation of this sector, including advising on the implementation of the Digital Services Act.

Gabrielle has completed an in-house client secondment at a major investment bank, where she reported on contentious regulatory matters and associated litigation.

Gabrielle is committed to pro bono work, including volunteering at the organisation European Lawyers in Lesvos.

Prior to joining White & Case in 2021, Gabrielle trained and practised at a leading international law firm in London.

Experience

Acting for a global mining company in one of the largest group actions brought in the English courts relating to damage caused by the collapse of a dam in Brazil.

Completing a 9 month secondment in Deutsche Bank's Litigation and Regulatory Enforcement Team.

Advising a multinational technology conglomerate on the European Digital Services Act.

Acting for Beauregarde Holdings LLP and Orobica Holdings LLC in claims against Credit Suisse International and the Republic of Mozambique relating to the Mozambique "Tuna Bond" scandal.*

Acting for a CIS copper mining company in an LCIA arbitration relating to the enforcement of a guarantee.*
