Guoda Majauskaite advises on European law, especially competition and EU regulatory law. She has expertise in a wide variety of industries, including electricity, gas, nuclear energy, automotive, chemicals and consumer products. Guoda has been involved in several EU cartel investigations and has a strong interest in horizontal cooperation cases.
Prior to joining White & Case, Guoda worked as a trainee at another international law firm in Brussels where she was engaged in various high-profile antitrust transactions, including a successful phase II merger investigation and the appeal of an EU Commission prohibition decision.
Guoda has a good working knowledge of US antitrust law and policy affairs. She interned at the office of Commissioner Joshua D. Wright at the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in Washington DC, where she worked closely with the Commissioner's legal advisors on FTC policy initiatives involving intellectual property rights and antitrust enforcement. Guoda also undertook a traineeship at the Antitrust Unit of the European Commission Directorate General for Competition. As a part of the case handlers' team, Guoda was involved in antitrust proceedings against an incumbent railway operator accused of abuse of dominance.
Before coming to Brussels, Guoda was a competition & regulatory associate at a top-tier Baltic law firm. During her 3 years of practice in Lithuania, Guoda handled multiple antitrust transactions for various local and international clients, including merger filings, cartel investigations and representation before the national competition authority and courts. Guoda was also a part of the legal team that advised an international strategic investor in the Visaginas nuclear power plant construction project, the largest and most complex investment project in the Baltic States since they regained independence in the early 1990s.
