Guy Maréchal is a counsel in the Paris Dispute Resolution practice. He is experienced in banking law and is a recognized white collar litigator with extensive experience of civil, commercial and criminal disputes involving banks and financial institutions.
Mr. Maréchal regularly represents clients in complex and high-value cases across a full range of criminal and regulatory issues before both the civil and criminal courts.
In addition, he advises banks on a range of transactional issues including procedure (vade mecum) and revising and redrafting banking documentation.
Prior to joining White & Case LLP, Mr. Maréchal was a partner at a specialist white collar firm based in Paris and he also served as a legal advisor for a major French bank for 14 years.
Conducting several complex proceedings for French banks in relation to the seizure of Iraqi assets after the Gulf War. Providing assistance in relation to bank guarantee issues in the context of project financings including concrete proposals for an international development agency.
Defending a credit card payment system provider in civil proceedings before the French courts.
