Biography
Jacob Allen is a litigation associate in the Chicago office of White & Case. Jacob's practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, where he represents individuals, corporations, and bankruptcy trustees in high-stakes disputes. He has experience with novel legal research, fact-finding investigations, defamation matters, and sensitive employment disputes involving restrictive covenants and workplace discrimination.
While at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, Jacob served as a Student Advocate in the Federal Appellate Clinic, licensed under Illinois Supreme Court Rule 711. In that role, he briefed and delivered oral argument on behalf of the appellant in a Title VII case involving claims of age and sex discrimination in employment. Arnold v. United Airlines, Inc., 142 F.4th 460 (7th Cir. 2025).
During law school, Jacob was selected among a competitive pool of applicants to participate in the LA Entertainment, Media, and Sports Law & Business program. Through the program, he externed in Los Angeles at a leading sports and entertainment agency, where he drafted and redlined contracts on behalf of athletes and influencers in deals with sponsors and teams, and contributed to strategy discussions during negotiations.
Jacob also served as a legal intern at a nonprofit focused on addressing forced labor and child labor in global supply chains, where worked with stakeholders to craft New York state legislation on fashion industry supply chains and conducted research for Withhold Release Orders (WRO), an enforcement mechanism that bars entry of goods produced with illegal labor conditions under 19 U.S.C. § 1307. At Northwestern, Jacob was the recipient of the Judge Richard E. Eagleton Scholarship and served as President of the Street Law Society and the Labor & Employment Law Society, and as Vice President of the Federal Bar Association and the Sports Law Society.
Jacob brings a practical lens to his legal work through his prior professional experience across politics and government, workforce development, and athletics and gaming. He has held a senior leadership role with a state political party, helped lead campaigns across local and national politics, and lobbied elected officials on behalf of third-party organizations. Jacob also worked in the gaming industry, licensed under the District of Columbia Office of Lottery and Gaming.
Earlier in his career, Jacob managed an adult testing center, where he assisted test takers and worked with various officials to expand GED access for incarcerated individuals. Jacob also served as a varsity high school football coach.
