Biography
Jacob Bourgault is an associate in the Houston office and a member of the Firm’s Financial Restructuring and Insolvency group. His practice focuses on bankruptcy and financial restructuring matters, including the representation of debtors, creditors, purchasers, and other interested parties in chapter 11 cases, cross-border proceedings, and related appeals.
Jacob also maintains an active pro bono practice representing individuals in capital cases, including death penalty appeals, habeas corpus proceedings, and related post-conviction litigation.
Before joining White & Case, Jacob graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he was inducted into the Order of the Coif. During law school he served as Managing Editor of Minnesota Law Review, was Student Director of the Bankruptcy Clinic, and had six legal articles selected for publication.
