James has over a decade of experience in advising vendors, purchasers, joint venture partners and financial advisers in relation to complex cross-border and domestic public and private M&A transactions.
James offers industry-specific M&A experience in the fields of private equity, oil & gas, water, engineering, technology and telecommunications, healthcare, hospitality and hotels, sports and media.
He also regularly advises in relation to Saudi corporate law and regulatory matters, and in particular obtaining foreign investment licenses from the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority for the incorporation of Saudi Arabian subsidiaries of foreign investors.
James has also advised financial institutions and corporates in connection with equity capital markets offerings (including several initial public offerings in Saudi Arabia and London).
Representation of Assystem in connection with its acquisition of 75% of Radicon Gulf, a Saudi professional engineering partnership operating in the oil and gas sector.
Representation of the owner in relation to two joint ventures with the Marriot Group (as operator) for the Ritz Riyadh and the Ritz Jeddah.
Representation of NESMA in connection with a US$100 million water infrastructure joint venture in Saudi Arabia.
Representation of the Saudi Automotive Company, listed on the Tadawul stock exchange, in connection with its acquisition of 100% of Zaiti, a competitor petrol station operator in Saudi Arabia (including obtaining competition clearance from the Saudi Competition Council and advising in relation to the public regulatory implications of the transaction).
Representation of the sellers in connection with its disposal of a majority shareholding in the Eed Group, a Saudi Arabian medical and plastic surgery business.
