Overview

Jean Shimotake focuses on patent litigation and client counseling on patent and other intellectual property issues.

She advises clients on the acquisition and licensing of intellectual property, as well as on product clearance issues. She is also called upon to evaluate intellectual property portfolios.

A registered US patent attorney, Jean has an extensive track record of representing clients in complex patent disputes concerning various technologies, including the biotechnological and chemical fields.

Clients also benefit from her experience in international arbitration matters before the Japan Commercial Arbitration Association.

Jean was based in the Firm's Tokyo office from 2000 to 2003, and served as an editor of the Journal of International Association of the Protection of Intellectual Property of Japan (AIPPI Japan).
