Mr. José Alberto López Torres has broad experience in questions involving civil, commercial, administrative and constitutional litigation before state and federal courts, including the Supreme Court of Mexico. Additionally, José Alberto has served as counsel in several domestic arbitrations under the arbitration rules of the Chamber of Commerce of Mexico.
In 2011, Mr. José Alberto was named senior legal advisor to Grupo Modelo, S.A.B. de C.V., Mexico's largest brewery, coordinating and supervising litigation and arbitration related to the companies of Grupo Modelo, which he successfully represented.
In addition, he reviewed the activities regarding the licenses and permits to sell beer in Grupo Modelo's business units, and executed the procedures to comply with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
Before joining White & Case, Mr. José Alberto López Torres worked for a distinguishedt law firm in Mexico that practices commercial, civil, bankruptcy and family litigation. He managed multiple trials before state and federal courts, defending several clients.
In addition, he provides frequent advice in procedure law to certain congressmen in the current Congress.
Since joining the Firm in 2014, José Alberto has participated in many trials representing several banks and companies.
