Julia Villalón heads the White & Case Tax practice in Spain.
With over 15 years of experience, she specializes in advising on the tax aspects of a wide range of M&A transactions, including both cross-border and domestic mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, joint ventures or co-investments and private equity deals. She has also extensive experience in assessing the tax implications of energy, infrastructure and real estate transactions.
She also represents clients on tax audits and tax litigations before the Spanish tax authorities and Spanish courts.

Advice on Spanish tax matters to Georg Fischer AG (GF), an international industrial and listed company, in the sale of GF Machining Solutions, GF's machine tool business.
Advice on Spanish tax matters to Waterland PE on the acquisition of a majority stake of Inves-tigación y Control de Calidad, S.A. ("Incosa"), by EC Partners Spanish Bidco, S.L.U. (a com-pany indirectly owned by WPEF IX Holding Cooperatief WA - a holding company of Waterland PE) from 3-Gutinver, S.L. and the indirect reinvestment in In-cosa of 3-Gutinver, S.L. and some of the key managers of Incosa alongside with Waterland PE.
Assistance to Investindustrial (private equity firm) on the Spanish tax implications deriving from the acquisition of a majority stake (up to 100% of the share capital) in Asociación de In-dustrias Alicantinas del Helado y Derivados, S.A. (Grupo Alacant), one of the leading inde-pendent ice cream manufacturers in Spain focused predominantly on private label ice cream for modern retail clients and on co-manufacturing for leading branded ice cream players.
Advice to Waterland Private Equity-backed Companionco BE B.V. on the Spanish tax aspects of the acquisition of a significant stake in the capital of Auren Holding SP, S.L.P., a multidisci-plinary professional services firm in Spain, specializing in audit, legal advisory, consulting and corporate finance services.
Assistance on the Spanish tax implications of the acquisition of c.80% of the shares of Metro-dora, S.L. by an investment vehicle of Charterhouse Capital Partners to Magnum Capital.
