Karina Sultanaliyeva is an associate in Astana office and a member of the Kazakhstan Energy, Infrastructure and Project Finance and Capital Markets Practice Groups.
She represents local and international clients in variety of transactions in M&A, banking and finance matters, and also advises the clients on various regulatory matters of conducting business in Kazakhstan. She has a vast experience in the area of banking transactions (including syndicated loans, project finance). Karina also deals with labor law matters and anti-corruption regulation matters.
In addition to her work on business conduct regulatory matters Karina completed training in International Anti-corruption Academy related to anti-corruption matters in EAEU countries (Vienna, 2016).
Representing of foreign investors in connection to acquisition of a number of Kazakhstan companies – subsoil users and companies engaged in cargo transportation and manufacturing industry.
Representing of trading and industrial companies in connection to fund raising from second tier banks in Kazakhstan.
Advising big manufacturing company on anti-monopoly law regulatory matters, legal due diligence in respect of compliance with competition law requirements.
Advising on different regulatory matters with respect to advertising in Kazakhstan including issues of marketing and promotion of pharmaceuticals, medical products and medical devices.
Drafting of services agreements, contractor contracts, lease, supply agreements for various service and trade companies in the sphere of subsoil use, pharmacy and tobacco production.
Advising on matters related to state procurement procedures and other types of regulated procurement activities.
Preparation and conduction of trainings on issues related to interactions with public officials and application of anti-corruption regulations for Kazakhstan based employees.
Advising Korean construction company on disputable matters related to construction and operational commissioning of a gas-filling compressor station.
Participated in the analysis of the current legal regime of tariff regulation and development of proposals for improving the legislation of Kazakhstan in the sphere of natural monopolies, subject to the international regulatory practice.
Advising on various matter of labor law, including social partnership, staff reduction procedure, termination of employment of certain categories of employees, corporate transfer.
