Katharina's practice focuses on all aspects of media and telecommunications law. She has a very detailed knowledge of the law in the field of broadcasting regulation and frequently advises businesses from the cable, broadcasting and telecommunications sector. She represents her clients in court proceedings as well as out of court and advises them on contract design and drafting and in connection with public authority licensing, approval and permit procedures. Another key area of her practice is advice in connection with claims under the Freedom of Information Act.
Prior to joining White & Case in 2010, she worked for a public broadcasting corporation.
Providing long-term advice to Kabel BW, the Unitymedia companies as part of Liberty Global i.a. regarding cooperation agreements with public and private broadcasters, VoD providers, collecting societies and other rights owners, and related technical services, as well as applicable media and telecommunications regulations.
Advising NPR Berlin on a broad range of issues, including copyright and licensing issues as well as advising on German broadcasting financing regulations.
Advising and representing Tipp24 Services Ltd. with regard to legal requirements of the internet law and related procedures.
Advising a leading Asian internet service provider with regard to German and European telecommunications law.
Advice and legal representation of the Compensation Scheme of German Banks (EdB) and the Compensation Scheme of Securities Trading Firms (EdW) in about 1000 administrative court proceedings with regard to information claims and access to files according to the Freedom of Information Act.
