Overview

Katie Halliwell is an associate in the Firm's Energy, Infrastructure, Project and Asset Finance Practice in London. Katie has a variety of transaction experience including project development, bank financing and private acquisitions.

Katie spent nine months as secondee legal counsel at ElecLink Limited, the project company in connection with the 1GW interconnector between the UK and France via the Channel Tunnel.

Katie also spent six months on secondment to the Firm's New York office.

EPH's acquisition of CCGT power stations

Advising EP UK Investments Limited, the UK business of Energetický a průmyslový holding, a.s. (EPH) on its £318 million acquisition of two combined cycle gas turbine power stations from Centrica plc.

Saudi Aramco US$2 billion facility covered by UK Export Finance

Advising Saudi Aramco on a US$2billion corporate buyer-credit facility covered by a guarantee provided by UK Export Finance.

ElecLink Interconnector Project

Advising ElecLink Limited, the project company in connection with the 1GW interconnector between the UK and France via the Channel Tunnel.

A7 Project Bond

Advising the joint lead arrangers, lenders and institutional investors on the financing of the extension and operation of the A7 federal highway between Hamburg and Bordesholm. The largest PPP project ever launched in Germany, with construction costs of approximately €600 million, it was awarded by the federal state to the consortium of Hochtief, institutional investor Dutch Infrastructure Fund (DIF) and construction company Kemna. This was the first PPP project in the German market to be financed by project bonds with EIB project bond credit enhancement and a bank facility. It was also the first bank–bond financing using EIB's project bond credit enhancement, and was named "2014 European Project Bond Deal of the Year" by IJGlobal and "2014 European Road Deal of the Year" by Project Finance International magazine.
