Kristin Spiekermann advises both national and international clients on all energy-law related matters.
She focuses mainly on regulatory issues in the power and gas sector and has strong experiences in all legal matters relating to the calculation of grid fees and unbundling of transport and distribution system operators. Kristin Spiekermann represents clients in legal disputes before the Higher Regional courts and the Federal Supreme Court.
Furthermore, Kristin Spiekermann is regularly involved in M&A transactions and energy projects in the power and gas sector.
Prior to joining White & Case Kristin Spiekermann worked for a leading international law firm in the energy field as a Senior Associate for several years. Furthermore, she was a legal research fellow in the field of energy regulation at the Center for European Integration Studies of the university in Bonn.
Kristin Spiekermann advised a consortium of municipal shareholders on the purchase and financing of a 73.3 percent stake in E.ON Mitte AG from E.ON for approximately €610 million.
Kristin Spiekermann advised Fluxys on the acquisition of Eni's shares in the gas pipelines TENP (Germany) and Transitgas (Switzerland).
Kristin Spiekermann conducted several court proceedings in relation to grid fees pursuant to the incentive regulation ordinance (Anreizregulierungsverordnung), including landmark cases EnBW Regional and WEMAG before the Higher Regional Court in Düsseldorf and the Federal Supreme Court.
