Overview

Lachlan is an associate in our Energy, Infrastructure, Project and Asset Finance Group, a global team dedicated to providing business and strategic advice to clients regarding large, complex projects and transactions.

Lachlan has advised on a diverse range of energy, resources and infrastructure projects including financing, development, sale/purchase and regulatory matters. Lachlan's recent experience includes a secondment to Korea's largest Independent Power Producer in-house legal team in Seoul where he gained unique experience assisting with its Korean and International Power Projects.

Experience

Korean Independent Power Producer: Seconded to Korea's largest Independent Power Producer's in-house legal department in Seoul to assist with a variety of matters related to Korean and International Power Projects. Included experience in relation to all aspects of its Korean and International Power Projects including Financing, EPC, O&M & Disputes.

Transurban: assisted in relation to Transurban's Market-Led Proposal to the Victorian Government to build the AU$6.7 billion West Gate Tunnel Project.

Wesfarmers Limited: advising in relation to all aspects of the approx. $4B complex project-financing arrangements and project architecture of WICET. This included in relation to the senior (and junior) syndicated facilities agreement, intercreditor terms, take-or-pay arrangements, and other aspects of the coal-shipper funded structure of, and liability for, the project.*

Sinotruk (Hong Kong) Capital Holding Limited: assisting as Australian Counsel for Sinotruk as lender in its first Australian debt financing transaction.*

Milmerran Power Management / Intergen: advising in relation to various matters related to operation of the coal-fired power station and associated mine including mine expansion, conversion of mineral development leases for further development and negotiation of agreements with Government departments. Included negotiations and contractual arrangements with a Government backed road-building consortium whose project overlaps critical power station infrastructure and land.*

Senex Energy: advising in relation to borrower debt facility arrangements and borrower due diligence report.*

Queensland Competition Authority: advised on all aspects of regulation of (Aurizon Network's) Central Queensland Coal Network and West Moreton Network including assisting the Authority with its decisions in relation to both Aurizon Network and Queensland Rail access undertakings and judicial review (this included undertaking two separate secondments with the Authority).*

Advising a large residential property developer in relation to multiple land acquisitions, financing arrangements and residential developments with a combined value of approx. $100M.*

Advising multiple large energy and resources companies in relation to the sale or purchase of their Australian assets including: Total Australia and Total GLNG, Origin Energy, Brookfield Group, Cooper Energy, Osaka Gas, Korea Resources Corporation & Adelaide Brighton.*
