Samay I S.A., a portfolio company of I Squared Capital, on the US$330 million refinancing of its 708 MW cold reserve power plant located in the district of Mollendo, province of Islay, Arequipa Region, Peru. This is one of the largest single-asset energy refinancings in Latin America this year. The refinancing loan provided by international commercial banks is being used to repay indebtedness under an existing project finance facility and other purposes.

The financing consisted of various escrow mechanics for the release of funds to match the repayment and release of collateral part of the project financing.
Standard Chartered Bank as administrative agent on a US$138 million syndicated term loan facility for Multibank Inc., a Panamanian bank. The facility includes an accordion feature for up to an additional US$22 million. The proceeds of the facility will be used for working capital and general corporate purposes. Standard Chartered Bank and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation acted as joint lead arrangers and bookrunners.
