Biography

Mallika is an associate in the Project Development and Finance Group located in the New York office of White & Case. Her practice focuses on various types of corporate and project financing transactions. Mallika advises lenders, borrowers and project sponsors on the acquisition, development and financing of major energy and infrastructure projects.

Experience

Select relevant matters include the representation of:

Calpine Corporation and its subsidiary Pin Oak Creek Energy Center, LLC in connection with the financing by the Public Utility Commission of Texas (the "PUCT") through the Texas Energy Fund (the "TEF") of a $278.32 million loan facility for the Freestone Peaker project, a 460 MW natural gas-fired, simple-cycle power generation facility located in Fairfield, Texas.

I Squared Capital Advisors in connection with a $70 million senior loan and a $60 million mezzanine loan to Novel Energy Solutions L.L.C. ("NES") for the construction, operation and maintenance of community solar projects owned by Novel Energy Solutions L.L.C. in Maine and Minnesota. Additionally, NES and ISQ entered into an equity capital contribution agreement pursuant to this transaction, under which a subsidiary of ISQ purchases an equity interest in each project company as such project companies are funded.

US DOE on an ATVM financing for CelLink for the establishment of an electric vehicle flex harness manufacturing facility in Texas.

NordLB, Wells Fargo, National Bank of Canada and Rabobank in connection with the $48M refinancing of a portfolio of thirteen operating commercial and industrial (C&I) solar power assets located in North Carolina (aggregating 90.8MW) owned and operated by Cypress Creek Renewables (CCR), one of the largest developers and operators of utility scale solar assets in the US with a ~1.6GW portfolio of operating solar assets. The financing also includes a $170 million delayed draw facility for additional assets aggregating 198.9MW and a $55 million incremental facility for additional assets aggregating 47.9MW.

Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC – Masdar, the United Arab Emirates' clean energy powerhouse, acquired a 50% stake in Terra-Gen Power Holdings II, LLC (Terra-Gen), one of the largest independent renewable energy power producers in the US, from Energy Capital Partners (ECP).

Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), a subsidiary of Mubadala, on its landmark acquisition, development and tax equity financing of a 50 percent cash equity stake in EDF Renewables' 1.6 GW clean-energy portfolio with wind, solar and battery storage assets in Nebraska, Texas and California.

KOMIPO and its affiliated US subsidiaries on the acquisition, development and construction, back-leverage and tax equity financing of the 130 MWac solar project in Texas. This transaction was the first Texas solar project implemented by a Korean government-owned power company.

KOMIPO and its affiliated US subsidiaries on its acquisition, development and construction, back-leverage and tax equity financing of a 160 MWac solar energy project in Texas.

Sponsors on the US$738 million financing of the 950 MW Trumbull Energy Center in Ohio. The financing included a senior construction and term credit facility, a mezzanine credit facility provided by direct lenders, and equity contributions. This transaction was awarded "North America Power Deal of the Year" by IJGlobal 2023.
