Mara Klebaner is an associate in the Commercial Litigation group and is based in the Firm's Chicago office. She concentrates her practice on complex commercial litigation and criminal defense. Mara advises clients on all stages of litigation, from pleadings, discovery and motions practice, to trial, settlement and appeal. She also represents clients in her pro bono practice.
Prior to joining White & Case, Mara served as a law clerk to the Honorable Harry D. Leinenweber for the Northern District of Illinois. Additionally, she was previously a Polikoff-Gautreaux Fellow for Business and Professional People for the Public Interest (BPI). As a Fellow, she represented a class of public housing residents seeking relief from segregated housing; and worked with the ACLU of Illinois on class action litigation to reform the Chicago Police Department’s use of force. During law school, Mara was a member of the Law Review, and worked as a law clerk within the Misdemeanors and Pre-Trial Felonies Division for the Cook County Public Defender.
