Mary E. Johnson
Mary is an associate in White & Case's Global Mergers & Acquisitions group in the Firm's Houston office. Mary provides counsel on entity formations, growth strategies and general business planning. She also has experience in researching legal issues under broad jurisdictional authorities and preparing law solutions to legal disputes, including drafting motions and trial briefs for complex litigation.
In the mergers and acquisitions space, Mary helps her clients carefully vet target companies, providing a thorough analysis of liability and potential assets. She leverages these insights to assist her clients in making informed decisions regarding how to proceed with acquisitions or other complex transactions.
When counseling startup companies, Mary assists with forecasting, market analysis and competitor research. In addition, she works closely with existing clients that are forming new branches or subsidiaries. Other aspects of her practice include general consultations and compliance analysis, where she helps ensure that her clients' systems and processes are fully compliant with current laws and regulations.
Mary understands the importance of anticipating the needs of her clients. Taking on their business goals as her own, she applies careful foresight in order to determine the best courses of action needed to achieve their objectives. This collaborative approach allows Mary to surface innovative ideas and provide her clients with alternate paths to success. Mary serves clients in a variety of industries, including information technology, supply chain and distribution, health care, franchises, architecture and engineering.
