Matt is an associate in the Firm's Energy, Infrastructure, Project and Asset Finance department in our London office. His focus is on international aircraft finance and leasing transactions. Matt has experience acting for lessors, export credit agencies and lenders on a range of asset finance transactions. Matt joined the Firm as a trainee in 2017 and qualified in 2019, after having spent six months on secondment in the Firm's Singapore Office.

Representation of Vermillion, the leading Ireland-based aircraft leasing company and a joint venture between Cheung Kong Holdings and MC Aviation Partners. Our Japan-based banking & finance team advised Vermillion in connection with a large-scale, US$950 million secured financing for the refinancing of a portfolio of 40 aircraft. The US$950 million facility was provided by a group of 10 banks.
Representation of representation of Deutsche Bank in a US$227M JOLCO financing of a portfolio of 12 Embraer E190 aircraft leased by a leading regional aircraft lessor to an African Airline, a Spanish Airline and a Mexican Airline.
Representation of a European export credit agency in the restructuring of the ownership structure for five aircraft leased to an airline in South-East Asia. The transaction involved adding an additional intermediate lessee into the ownership structure for each aircraft in order to comply with a local change in law.
