As a partner in the Firm's global Project Development and Finance Practice, Micah supports clients with the development and financing of major energy projects, and has a particularly strong track record in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) sector.
Prior to joining the Firm, he served a two-year appointment as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Justice Paula A. Nakayama, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Hawaii, where he is qualified to practice.
Micah is a member of a number of professional associations, including the Hawaii State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the American Judicature Society, the American Chamber of Commerce Japan, the Daini Tokyo Bar Association and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators.

Wheatstone's LNG Project
Micah was part of the team which advised on the acquisition of a 10 percent interest in the petroleum licenses covering the Wheatstone/Iago gas fields located off the shores of Western Australia, and an 8 percent interest in the related Wheatstone Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) facility, by the joint venture entity PE Wheatstone Pty Ltd. During this complex, four-year project, Micah advised clients on all aspects of long-term LNG procurement, including confidentiality arrangements, key term sheets, heads of agreement, LNG sale and purchase agreements, extensions, amendments and price reviews. The transaction set an important precedent in terms of partnership between LNG sellers and buyers, cooperation among Japanese corporates, and participation by the Gas and Metals National Corporation and JBIC.
Long-term petroleum product offtake agreement
Micah successfully negotiated a long-term petroleum product offtake agreement on behalf of a creditor/offtaker, which was used to underpin the debt restructuring of a private Indonesian debtor/supplier.
Master LNG spot sale and purchase
Micah represented Japanese trading companies and utility companies on all aspects of master LNG spot sale and purchase agreements and related transactions, including the use of master LNG spot sale and purchase agreements for short-term multi-year procurements, and various back to back transactions.
Condensate and LPG offtake agreements
Micah represented clients in connection with condensate and LPG offtake agreements.
LNG transportation arrangements
Micah represented clients in connection with LNG transportation arrangements, including long-term time charters for LNG tankers and agreements relating to LNG tankers, including ship management agreements and contracts of affreightment.
