Biography

Overview

Miles is a senior associate in the Project Development and Finance Group in the London office. Miles is an energy and infrastructure finance lawyer who acts for commercial banks, multilaterals, development finance institutions, institutional investors, sponsors, infrastructure and private equity funds and corporates on energy, natural resource and infrastructure financings in a wide variety of jurisdictions. Miles has significant experience advising clients on project finance, acquisition finance, syndicated lending and reserve based lending transactions.

Prior to joining the Firm, Miles spent six months on secondment in Singapore working on energy and project finance transactions.

Experience

Representation of the mandated lead arrangers on the provision of approximately US$1.1 billion of underwritten facilities for the acquisition of GTT Communications' telecoms infrastructure business by I Squared Capital.

Representation of Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) as sponsor's counsel in relation to the development of the first utility-scale solar plant in Armenia. Financing for the project was provided by International Finance Corporation and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.*

Representation of Unicredit, CA-CIB, CSOS, SMBC, EIB, EBRD and ICO Bank as lenders to the D4R7 road PPP project in Slovakia.*

Representation of International Finance Corporation in relation to its financing of Habesha Breweries, a beverage manufacturer in Ethiopia to help the company expand its operations and increase local barley sourcing from smallholder farmers.*

Representation of NEO Energy on its US$2 billion senior borrowing base facilities agreement and junior financing to, among other things, acquire Total's UK North Sea Assets.*
