Overview

Nada Hussein is an associate of MHR & Partners in association with White & Case.

Nada is a member of the Firm's Project Development and Finance Group. She has significant experience in advising regional and international banks and financial institutions on project development, banking and project finance aspects of various complex cross-border financing projects. She is ranked as a "Rising Star" by IFLR 1000 in 2020.

Prior to joining MHR & Partners in association with White & Case, Nada worked for a top tier law firm in Cairo, Egypt.

Experience

Acted on behalf of JBIC, NEXI and a consortium of commercial lenders as lenders local counsel in relation to the first BOO wind farm power project in Egypt, located in the Gulf of Suez area, to develop, build, finance and operate a 250 MW wind farm project, which successfully achieved financial close in December 2017.*

Acted on behalf of a consortium of IFIs in relation to a BOO wind farm power project in Egypt, located in the Gulf of Suez area, to develop, build, finance and operate a 500 MW wind farm project.*

Acted on behalf of IFC, EBRD and OPIC as lenders local counsel in relation to the second BOO wind farm power project in Egypt, located in the Gulf of Suez area, to develop, build, finance and operate a 250 MW wind farm project, which successfully achieved financial close in August 2019.*

Acted on behalf of JBIC in relation to a financing granted to the African Export-Import with a value of USD 500,000,000.*

Acted on behalf of Nordea Bank and the lenders in relation to a financing with a value of USD 385,000,000 be granted to a Norwegian company for the refinancing of the existing indebtedness of its group of companies.*

Represented Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank and Credit Agricole Egypt in relation to a loan with a value of USD 25,200,000 granted to Dairy Distributors Company for financing the acquisition of Greenland Group for Food Industries S.A.E. in Egypt.*

Acted for a syndicate of lenders including First Abu Dhabi Bank P.J.S.C, Arab Banking Corporation and Citibank, N.A. in relation to a facility with a value of USD 600,000,000 granted to one of the largest banks in Egypt for general corporate funding purposes.*

Acted on behalf of African Export-Import Bank in a USD 5 billion Euro Medium Term Note Programme.*

Acted for the European Investment Bank on various financings in support of Egyptian government infrastructure projects and state supported Egyptian banks.*
