Biography

Overview

Natalia is the Records and Information Governance Counsel, located in the Moscow office. She works with global Knowledge and specifically Records teams to develop and implement Firmwide records retention policy and a schedule. She also helps the offices in EMEA and Asia-Pacific to develop or improve their local records management procedures and vendor practices. She provides her legal and practical expertise to support a variety of cross-office knowledge projects and training programs.

As a Russian-qualified lawyer and a former Professional Support Lawyer with the Firm (2002 – 2017), Natalia used to focus on corporate, real estate and banking law matters. She devoted her time to pro bono matters of the Firm, in particular, she advised international non-governmental nonprofit organization Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors without Borders) on all its projects in the Russian Federation from 2000 to 2007. For a number of years, Natalia was a visiting lecturer in the top Russian law schools. She ran courses on legal research, legal writing, legal ethics and other soft skills for lawyers at Moscow State University, Moscow State Institute for International Relations, and others. Her community and social activity has been rewarded with the Firm Pro Bono Award.

Natalia is an author of the first book in Russian language titled Legal Research in Russian Law: Strategy and Techniques, to support the Moscow office's efforts and pro bono initiatives to train a new generation of Russian lawyers, with improved legal research, writing and other soft skills. The book was first published in 2013 and since then was re-published several times by U-Right Publishing house, well-known on the Russian legal market (online version available at: biblio-online.ru).

Before joining White & Case in 1999, Natalia worked as a lawyer at a well-known Russian-American bank in Moscow, where she dealt with currency control, banking and consumer lending matters.
