Nigela Houghton

Nigela Houghton is an associate in the Firm's Debt Finance group in London. Her experience includes advising banks and other financial institutions, investment funds, private equity houses and corporate borrowers in relation to a wide range of finance transactions including domestic and cross-border acquisition finance, large syndicated deals and general lending/refinancing.

Nigela was recently seconded to a leading credit-oriented alternative asset manager and, previously, at one of Australia's "big four" banks.

Prior to joining White & Case in 2017, Nigela worked in the London office of an international law firm, having previously trained and practiced at one of Australia's top-tier law firms.

Representative transactions include advising:

  • The arrangers in connection with the senior financing, and private credit funds in connection with the PIK holdco financing, of IK Investment's acquisition of the French biosecurity and food safety group, Kersia.
  • The arrangers in connection with Leonard Green & Partners-backed Pure Gym's debt financing (including a bridge to bond facility and upsize to the existing super senior revolving credit facility) for the acquisition of Fitness World, a Danish fitness chain.
  • Multiple private credit funds as junior lenders in connection with the financing of the acquisition of Nestle Skin Health, with an enterprise value of CHF 10.2 billion, by a consortium led by EQT Private Equity and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA).
  • HPS Investment Partners in connection with the financing of outsourced wealth management software business, FNZ Group.
  • Goldman Sachs (through its funds) in connection with a number of private holdco acquisition financings.
  • Hayfin Capital Management and EQT Credit on the unitranche refinancing of FE Fund Info for HgCapital.
  • HPS Investment Partners as holdco PIK lender in connection with the acquisition of Danish metering business, Combell.
  • Park Square Capital as holdco PIK Lender in connection with the refinancing of UK software group, Access Group.
  • GSO Capital Partners in connection with the financing of Inflexion’s acquisition of Marley Tiles, a UK roofing specialist.
