Overview

Pauline Weess is an Associate in the International Arbitration Group in Paris. Her practice covers investor-state arbitration and commercial arbitration.

Prior to joining White & Case, Pauline acquired experience in international investment and commercial arbitration, commercial litigation, enforcement and annulment proceedings in several leading law firms in Paris. She also acquired experience in commercial disputes working for a judge at the New York Supreme Court.

Experience

Representing a West African State in an ICC arbitration regarding the construction of a hydroelectric power project in the country;

Representing one of the parties in an ongoing ICC arbitration regarding the construction of the Panama Canal and representing one of the parties in the related ICSID arbitration against the Republic of Panama;

Representing an employer in a dispute against a contractor in the nuclear energy sector before a Panel of Adjudicators;

Advising a company regarding a potential claim against an African State under international investment law;

Representing a Georgian state entity in annulment proceedings before French courts; and

Representing a company in an ICSID arbitration against a European State under the Energy Charter Treaty in relation to the solar energy market.*
