Pelayo is an associate in the Global Debt Finance and Capital Markets practices. He is registered with the Madrid and Luxembourg bars and based in Luxembourg.

His practice focuses on a broad range of financing transactions and debt capital structures, including cross-border acquisition finance and leveraged financings (including LBO and private equity-backed transactions), real estate finance, structured finance and debt restructuring transactions. He also advises on capital markets transactions, including Euro Medium Term Note (EMTN) and Euro-Commercial Paper (ECP) programmes, regulatory capital instruments, covered bonds and securitisation transactions (including RMBS, SME, trade receivables and auto-loan transactions).

He regularly advises national and international clients, including financial institutions, private equity sponsors and corporate borrowers on complex domestic and cross-border financing and capital markets transactions, coordinating multi-jurisdictional teams across multiple jurisdictions

Prior to joining White & Case, Pelayo practised for over five years in the Banking and Finance department of a magic circle firm in Madrid. During that time, he also completed a secondment at Santander Consumer Finance, S.A., where he advised on capital markets, financial management and treasury matters, including securitisation transactions, debt issuances and hedging arrangements.
