Overview

Phoenix Kushner is an Associate in the Firm’s market leading International Arbitration Practice, based in London.
 
Her experience includes advising commercial clients and governments on complex disputes across a number of sectors, including infrastructure, energy and oil and gas. Phoenix has acted in ICC, LCIA, ADCCAC and ad hoc arbitrations across the world, and she has also advised clients in relation to mediation and adjudication proceedings.
 
Phoenix joined White & Case in 2016 as a trainee, gaining experience in the Firm's Capital Markets and Project Finance groups. Phoenix also spent six months working in the Firm's Dubai office with the Construction team.
 
Phoenix is an active member of several pro bono initiatives across the firm.

Experience

Representing the main contractor on one of the world's largest infrastructure projects located in Central America, in a series of related ICC arbitrations against the employer, worth in excess of $1 billion.

Acting for an international oil & gas company in one of the largest arbitration proceedings in the world and numerous adjudications, relating to delay, disruption and pricing disputes in respect of the construction of an LNG processing facility.

Representing the respondent in a commercial dispute with issues surrounding contractual termination and fraud.

Acting for a state-owned natural gas company and state-owned oil company in Africa in relation to contractual disputes.

Representing a government client concerning various disputes arising out the construction of new international airports and regional airports in the Middle East.

Representing a Middle East government in an ad hoc arbitration arising out of a contract for construction of a highway.

Representing the Employer in an arbitration arising out of a large-scale infrastructure project in the Middle East.

Representing a ship builder in a multi-million euro LCIA arbitration concerning the major refurbishment of an FPSO.
