Biography

Praveer is an associate in our Global M&A and Corporate practice based in Johannesburg.

Praveer focuses primarily on cross-border private capital transactions and has a breadth of experience assisting private equity and venture capital houses, as well as industry-leading, mid-market and high-growth potential companies, with acquisitions, equity investments, financing, joint ventures and strategic advice

Prior to joining White & Case, Praveer was an associate at a leading South African law firm.

Experience

Representation of Carlyle founders-backed Alterra Capital Partners, an Africa-focused private equity firm, in respect of its acquisition of the ARP Africa Travel Group, a leading destination management group providing tailored travel experiences across East Africa.

Representation of Sanlam Private Equity, the private equity division of one of South Africa's largest financial services groups, in respect of its acquisition of a controlling interest in Q Link Holdings (Pty) Ltd, a South African payment solutions provider, from UK-based Apis Partners and other minority investors.*

Representation of Spruce House Partnership, in respect of its lead investment comprising the $21m Series A funding round of Stitch, a South African fintech API.*

Representation of Farmerline Limited, a Ghanaian agritech company, in respect of its Pre-Series A funding round led by the Acumen Resilient Agriculture Fund (nominated for Private Equity Deal of the Year at the IFLR Africa Awards 2022).*

Representation of Development Partners International LLP-backed Ukheshe International Limited, a South African fintech enablement partner, in respect of its acquisition of EFT Corporation, an Africa-focused payment and e-commerce solutions provider.*

Representation of GCash, the largest mobile wallet provider in the Philippines, in respect of its joint venture agreement with Purple Group Limited, a leading South African trading, investing and asset management company, to offer managed portfolios of US-listed shares to GCash's domestic investors.*
