Biography

Samuel is a member of the Firm’s EU law practice in Brussels and advises clients on all aspects of European competition law.

Prior to joining White & Case, Samuel worked at another international law firm, where he advised on Digital Markets Act enforcement proceedings before the European Commission and litigation before EU courts. He also advised on merger control transactions, including European Commission filings, and assisted clients in antitrust investigations involving Article 101 TFEU.

He also was a Blue Book Trainee at the European Commission's DG Competition, where he worked on antitrust investigations in the digital sector.

Samuel holds a Ph.D. (summa cum laude equivalent) in EU Competition Law from the University of Trento. He also spent a semester as visiting researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Competition and Innovation in Munich. Prior to that, he obtained an LLM in German Law (summa cum laude) from the University of Passau and a JD (summa cum laude) from the University of Trento.

He speaks Italian, English, and German.

Experience

Advised a leading global technology company in multiple investigations related to the enforcement of the Digital Markets Act, and in subsequent litigation before the General Court of the European Union.*
