Overview

Sean Curran is a Senior Associate in the Project Development and Finance group. He provides legal and policy advice relating to global energy and infrastructure projects and related matters.

Sean recently completed a secondment with the legal department of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), a multilateral development bank headquartered in Beijing with a mission to improve social and economic outcomes in Asia.

Experience

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in connection with its anchor investment in a US$401 million infrastructure asset-backed securities (IABS) issuance listed on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) and sponsored by Bayfront Infrastructure Management.

The European and Asian export credit agencies on the project financing of the Marlim 2 FPSO project, an FPSO installed off the Brazilian coast and chartered by Petrobras.

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) as lender in connection with financing arrangements relating to several large solar power projects located in Rajasthan, India.

The financiers to Australian Super and Singtel in relation to the debt financing aspects of the acquisition of Axicom, Australia's largest independent mobile towers owner.

A lender group comprised of leading international banks and development agencies in connection with the financing of a large-scale smart lighting project in a Gulf state.

The Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG) in connection with a fund management tender process in respect of two large African infrastructure funds.*

Banque Saudi Fransi and Saudi Investment Bank in connection with negotiating derivative trading documentation with several major global banks.*

Leading investment firms and global banks in connection with margin loan transactions collateralised by shares in large listed companies in multiple jurisdictions.*

Ukraine in ICSID arbitration proceedings brought by a British investor pursuant to the Ukraine-United Kingdom BIT relating to the alleged expropriation of land plots by the Government of Ukraine.*
