Sylwia Maria Bea works as a lawyer in the field of insolvency and corporate law. Her focus lies in advising on complex restructuring and reorganization mandates, both outside and within insolvency proceedings.
She regularly advises management and shareholders of crisis-afflicted companies, in particular on liability issues, and in recent years has accompanied numerous well-known restructuring mandates in an international environment. Sylwia Maria Bea is also regularly involved in self-administered insolvency proceedings. In the past, she has advised various parties involved in national and international acquisitions in distressed situations.
Sylwia Maria Bea also has extensive experience in providing expert opinions on complex issues, in particular with regard to board liability and insolvency disputes.
She is chairwoman and co-founder of the association "Distressed Ladies - Women in Restructuring e.V.", an established network of women in the insolvency and restructuring market. She is also an annual lecturer at the University of Würzburg in the Executive MBA program on corporate crisis and manager liability.
Sylwia Maria Bea was part of the team that advised the shareholders of the Scholz Group, a global metal recycling group (approx. 7,500 employees and sales of EUR 3.8 billion in 2013) on the sale to the Japanese trading group Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC).*
Together with a colleague, Sylwia Maria Bea was in charge of the management of RENA GmbH, the parent company of a mechanical and plant engineering group in the solar sector (sales of approx. EUR 400 million in 2014), in the run-up to and as part of the self-administration in the dual track process.*
Sylwia Maria Bea advised the foreign investor on the purchase of the German fashion company Strenesse AG as part of the self-administration.*
