Biography

Overview

Sylwia Zwolan focuses her practice on Polish and EU law, in particular with respect to energy and environmental law projects as well as related regulatory issues. She has been involved in a number of M&A transactions in the energy sector. During her practice, she has participated in numerous due diligence processes of photovoltaic, onshore and offshore wind, and biogas projects, supervising entire projects and supporting companies at every stage of investment development. Additionally, she has worked on innovative projects in the fields of waste, emissions and pollution reduction management. Moreover, she has obtained geological permits for clients and worked on construction contracts.

Prior to joining White & Case, Sylwia gained valuable experience working in several renowned international law firms based in Warsaw.

Experience

Polenergia S.A.: representation of Polenergia S.A. on the signing of an investment agreement to establish a special purpose vehicle, jointly controlled by Green Genius (part of the Modus Group), which will act as Polenergia's local partner in the Lithuanian market. The agreement will establish a joint venture to develop wind power projects in the Baltic Sea in Lithuania's territorial waters or in the country's exclusive economic zone. The first offshore wind power project in Lithuania in the Baltic Sea is expected to start operations in 2030 and will have a capacity of approximately 700 MW.

Polenergia S.A.: representation of Polenergia S.A., the largest private energy group in Poland, on the signing of a final agreement for the acquisition of a 100% stake in Edison Energia S.A., one of the fastest growing photovoltaic systems installation companies in Poland.

Pacifico Energy Partners: representation of Pacifico Energy Partners in connection with the acquisition of a PV portfolio with a projected capacity of up to 280 MW.

EIT InnoEnergy: representation of Meva Energy, a Swedish company, in connection with the development of a waste treatment facility. Meva Energy, supported by EIT InnoEnergy, signed a EUR 23 million green energy agreement with IKEA Industry to produce long-term renewable power from wood residue in Zbaszynek.

A multinational company: representation of a multinational company in connection with the sale of a construction-ready wind farm with a winning bid for more than 24 MW of capacity.

An international company: representation of an international company in connection with the acquisition of a portfolio of PV projects with a total capacity of approximately 100 MW.

An international company: representation of an international company in connection with the acquisition of a portfolio of 9 biogas plants ready for construction in Poland.

A Polish company: representation of a Polish company in connection with the acquisition of a portfolio of PV projects with a total capacity of approximately 13 MW.

An international company: representation of an international company in connection with the development of wind and solar projects located throughout Poland at every stage of project development.
