Biography
Theresa is an associate in the Firm's Project Development and Finance Group in London. During her recent training contract, which included a six-month secondment to our Paris office, she has widely supported our Project Development and Finance practice with various financing and development matters in the energy sector across the UK, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Theresa is currently on a secondment to our Hamburg office, working closely with one of our local partners and our European colleagues on various energy projects.
Experience
Representative experience includes:
Representation of a syndicate of lenders, including FIEM (Fondo para la Internacionalización de la Empresa) through ICO, Société Générale with coverage from the Spanish Export Credit Agency CESCE, Attijariwafa Bank, Banque Centrale Populaire, and Bank of Africa, in the approximately €500 million long-term project financing for the seawater desalination plant in Casablanca, Morocco. This transaction will support the development of the largest desalination facility in Africa and the world's largest desalination plant powered entirely by renewable energy.
Representation of The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited and a syndicate of lenders on a US$190 million revolving reserve-based lending financing, with an accordion option of up to US$300 million, made available to VAALCO Energy, Inc., a Texas-based leading Africa-focused oil and gas operating company, secured by its assets in Gabon, Egypt and Côte d'Ivoire.
Representation of African Development Bank (AfDB), Trade and Development Bank and Finnfund as lenders on the financing of the 35MW geothermal power project in Kenya. Menengai is a greenfield geothermal project and part of the first phase of the wider Menengai complex, one of the largest geothermal fields being developed in Kenya.
