Overview

Yulian is an associate at the Moscow office focusing on a wide range of Russian and international tax matters. Yulian has been involved in projects in the area of M&A and real estate where he advised on various commercial, corporate, regulatory, tax and customs matters and participated in conducting due diligence reviews for Russian and international companies in relation to their activities in Russia. Yulian also participated in conducting various corporate investigations as part of a white-collar investigations team of the Moscow office.

Yulian's recent experience includes advising:

  • the founding shareholders of MERA, the leading Switzerland-based global provider of software development and maintenance services for various industries, on complex tax structuring issues linked to the sale of the holding company, MERA International, to Orion Business Innovation, a portfolio company of One Equity Partners, a leading US-based middle market private equity firm.
  • Tenaris on tax structuring matters in connection with establishment of US$240 million joint venture with Severstal for production of welded pipes for the oil & gas industry in West Siberia, Russia.
  • Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, the leading art museum based in Gorky Park, Moscow on a range of complex tax issues linked to derivative and compiled works linked to the organization of art exhibitions by Garage.
