Biography

Overview

Yun specializes in advising equity and debt investors navigate the spectrum of acquisition, equity investment, development and financing of energy and infrastructure projects. Yun's coverage includes renewables, infrastructure (including digital infrastructure such as data centres), petrochemicals, LNG and oil and gas.

He is the lead associate on several significant offshore wind and data centre mandates across Asia Pacific, including the first non-recourse project financed offshore wind project in South Korea (Jeonnam 1) and the financing of the largest commercial data centre project in South Korea to date. Yun's lead role on these projects reflects the high level of trust that both clients and senior partners place on his exceptional technical skill to effectively manage and execute the financing workstreams of these large-scale transactions.

Yun is recognised in industry as a co-winner in the Banking and Finance category of the 2018 Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 Awards – this award being the benchmark industry recognition for exceptional young lawyers in Australia.

Yun is based in Singapore, and has lived and practiced out of Perth and Sydney.

The Sponsors on the development and project financing of the 96 MW Jeonnam offshore wind project in Shinan County in Jeonnam Province, South Korea.

Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) in its approx. US$590 million acquisition of a 29.4 percent interest in the Hai Long offshore wind project in Taiwan from Northland Power, a Canadian-listed renewable power producer.

The syndicate of international and local banks on the €2.7b project financing of the 640MW Yunlin offshore wind project in Taiwan (Asia Renewables Deal of the Year 2019, PFI). This project was the first large-scale offshore wind project in Taiwan to reach financial close.
