The Politics of Infrastructure
Against the backdrop of increased populism in our politics, and low interest rates, politicians seem more determined than ever to use investment in infrastructure as a device to appeal to the masses. Moreover, the nationalisation of key infrastructure and utility assets is no longer a topic of only historic or theoretical interest. For infrastructure sector participants understanding the politics of infrastructure is essential.
The event will feature what should be a thought provoking roundtable discussion with:
- Matthew Goodwin, Professor of Politics at the University of Kent and Associate Fellow at Chatham House
- Katrina Haley, Managing Director, Head of Structured Bonds, Infrastructure and Real Estate Group at HSBC
- Mike Redican, CEO, Raphaels Bank; formerly Head of European Infrastructure and Energy Capital Markets Structuring at Deutsche Bank
- Garret Tynan, Head of European Infrastructure and Project Finance at Kroll Bond Rating Agency Europe Limited
