White & Case has been lauded for its leadership in Mexico disputes with a trio of awards. In its inaugural Latin America Awards, Benchmark Litigation recognized the Firm in three areas:

  • Arbitration: White & Case partner Rafael Llano received the award for “Mexico Arbitration Lawyer of the Year.” Llano heads White & Case's International Arbitration Practice in Mexico City.
  • Litigation: White & Case partner Enrique Espejel received the award for “Mexico Litigator of the Year.” Espejel co-heads White & Case’s disputes practice in Mexico City. Also in Mexico City, partner Ismael Reyes highlights the office’s highly regarded focus on regulatory matters and administrative litigation.
  • Pro bono: White & Case was also honored with the “Impact Case Award” for the firm’s recent pro bono success in a landmark case. Led by Llano, the Firm represented the Cyrus R. Vance Center for International Justice on behalf of the victims before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.

The awards reflect the successful long-term strategy of the Firm to build market-leading national and international disputes capacity out of its Mexico City office.

Announced on June 16, the awards “celebrate the leading litigators, law firms, and most impactful disputes across Latin America,” according to Benchmark Litigation, a global guide to the world’s leading disputes firms.
