Business intelligence service The Deal has named White & Case partners Germaine Gurr (New York) and Jessica Lauria (formerly Boelter, New York) among its "Top Women in Dealmaking" honorees for legal work and activism performed in 2020.
Top Women in Dealmaking recognizes US-based women partners "who have displayed excellence in their respective legal fields including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, restructuring and activist investing," according to The Deal. In connection with the awards, The Deal published extensive profiles of Gurr and Lauria.
Honoring Gurr in the M&A category, The Deal cited Gurr's dealmaking for "private equity sponsors and portfolio companies on M&A transactions," and for her work promoting diversity and inclusion as a member of White & Case's Women, LGBT+ and Hispanic/Latinx affinity networks. Gurr is a partner in the White & Case Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice.
Honoring Lauria in the Restructuring category, The Deal cited her outstanding record representing clients in a wide variety of in-court and out-of-court restructuring matters. Lauria is a partner in the White & Case Global Financial Restructuring and Insolvency Practice.
