White & Case wins Global and Africa Legal Adviser of the Year at IJGlobal Awards 2023 Europe & Africa

IJGlobal has named global law firm White & Case LLP "Global Legal Adviser of the Year" and "Legal Adviser of the Year for Africa" at its 2023 Europe and Africa awards ceremony, held in London on March 6, 2024.

The Firm also won the following five "Deal of the Year" awards:

  • European Power Refinancing Deal of the Year 2023 – West Burton B

    White & Case represented West Burton Energy and its wholly owned subsidiary West Burton B Limited—together known as WBE—on the £350 million refinancing of its 1332 MW combined-cycle gas turbine and 49 MW battery energy storage system plant in Nottinghamshire, UK.

  • European Refinancing Deal of the Year 2023 – Ventient Energy

    White & Case represented the lenders to Ventient Energy, Europe's largest operator of onshore wind farms, on the €2.6 billion refinancing of existing debt financings, alongside the creation of a new investment platform designed to expand Ventient's renewable energy business and projects across Europe.

  • African Telecoms, Digital Infrastructure, Fiber Deal of the Year 2023 – Project East2West

    White & Case represented infrastructure investment platform Africa50 on a partnership with digital connectivity company Bayobab to develop Project East2West, a terrestrial fiber optic cable network connecting the eastern shores of Africa to those on the west.

  • African Refinancing Deal of the Year 2023 – SECAA: Dakar-Diamniadio Toll Road PPP

    White & Case represented Société Eiffage de la Concession de l'Autoroute de l'Avenir (SECAA)—in which Eiffage S.A. and the State of Senegal are shareholders—on the financing of an additional investment program to improve traffic flow and safety on the operational toll highway linking Dakar, Diamniadio and Blaise Diagne International Airport.

  • Export Finance Deal of the Year Europe 2023 – Kyiv 6 Bridge Project

    White & Case represented Ukraine's Ministry of Finance, as borrower, on a UK export finance-backed £26.3 million equivalent loan the country will use to begin rebuilding six bridges and to reopen important supply routes around the capital, Kyiv.
