White & Case wins “Impact Case of the Year” award at 2025 LMG Life Sciences EMEA Awards

Global law firm White & Case LLP has won an "Impact Case of the Year" award at the 2025 LMG Life Sciences EMEA Awards.

The award recognizes the Firm's work on the Les Laboratoires Servier litigation in which we represented French pharmaceutical company Servier for over a decade in its challenge to a 2014 European Commission decision that imposed a significant fine on Servier for entering into patent litigation settlements and acquiring technology.

After securing a win before the EU General Court regarding the abuse of dominance findings under Article 102 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, the case was appealed to Europe's highest court, the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg. Following a two-day appeals hearing, the European Court of Justice issued a precedential judgment establishing new principles for defining markets in the pharmaceutical sector. The case is now pending before the EU General Court on the definition of the market and the meaning of abuse of dominance in the pharmaceutical sector.
