White & Case International Arbitration Team Leads in Latin America and Charts Future Trends

Global law firm White & Case LLP scored another year of top-tier rankings for its International Arbitration team in Latin America.

In another Tier One recognition for its International Arbitration Practice in Latin America in recently announced 2022 rankings from The Legal 500.

"White & Case LLP's deep bench of talent and extensive global international arbitration network provide Latin American clients with 'sophisticated strategic thinking,'" The Legal 500 reported in its profile of White & Case. "With a 30-year presence in the Latin American market, the practice has built up a strong reputation and particular sector expertise in energy, natural resources, financial services, technology and transportation among other industries."

The Latin America business news and analysis service Latinvex also ranked White & Case as the sole #1 firm in Latin American arbitration, a market designation that the Firm has held continuously since 2017. The practice also maintained its longstanding Band One ranking in Chambers Latin America 2022, which highlighted the Firm's "[p]re-eminent global practice group in high demand for its extensive experience acting on sophisticated Latin American arbitration matters."

The group's recently released report on "Latin American Arbitration in Transition" highlights transitions arising out of "the confluence of the global pandemic, the fallout of years of scandals and shifting political perspectives on globalization." The report focuses on a range of emerging developments related to the environmental, social and governance (ESG), as well. According to the report, "Arbitration is now deeply entrenched in the private and public sectors in Latin America, and will be the key mechanism for international disputes arising out of unfolding transitions in the region."

In related coverage, Daily Business Review focused on the "comprehensive report" and highlighted that White & Case has built a platform for Latin American arbitration "that pulls in resources from multiple offices, there are about 100 lawyers working daily on Latin American arbitration matters out of more than 10 offices, including traditional arbitration hubs and other key offices in or focused on Latin America."
