The White & Case Milan Office hosted its first Women's Network Event, bringing together clients of all gender and from all sectors. Topics of discussion included the gender pay gap in the Italian market, female employment rate and possible solutions to bridge the gap.

The external speakers, Luisa Adami, General Counsel of McDonald's, Isabella Fumagalli, CEO of BNP Paribas Cardif and Tiziano Somaschini, Legal Affairs Manager of Heineken, and White & Case partner Veronica Pinotti, moderated by Simona Bormida, Senior Professional Support Lawyer, encouraged an interesting exchange of views and ideas. At the end of the discussion, guests gathered on the stunning office terrace overlooking the Duomo to enjoy a beautiful end-of-summer sunset and refreshments.

The Women's Network Event was supported by the White & Case Milan Diversity and Inclusion Committee and the White & Case Global Women's Initiative.

The Milan Diversity and Inclusion Committee was started in 2018 by a group of committed partners, associates, and staff with the goal of actively promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Diversity and inclusion are inherent core values of White & Case, embedded in all we do as one Firm in our offices around the world. As a truly global law firm, we are driven to recruit, retain and advance people of diverse backgrounds who will strengthen our business and our work across practices and regions.

The White & Case Global Women's Initiative is led by a Committee of 14 partners (nine women and five men), including one Executive Committee member. The Global Women's Initiative began in the US in 2004 and expanded to global scope in 2009 in recognition of the importance and depth of the talent pool of women lawyers for a global Firm like White & Case. Through our Global Women's Initiative, we seek to enhance opportunities provided to our women through a combination of talent management programs, local women's networks providing mentoring circles and other professional development activities, business-related client partnerships, and a continual review of our flexible work arrangement and leave policies to support and retain our talent.
