Global law firm White & Case LLP is continuing to expand its Global Antitrust Practice and Global Technology Industry Group with the addition of Gail Slater as a partner in Washington, DC.

"Gail served in the Department of Justice's most senior antitrust position, where she played a significant role in shaping and enforcing antitrust law and policy," said White & Case Chair Heather McDevitt. "She brings exceptional experience and insight that strengthens our ability to advise clients on their most complex legal, regulatory and business challenges."

Gail brings deep experience at the intersection of antitrust, technology and economic policy, spanning senior roles in government and the private sector. Most recently, she served as Assistant Attorney General for the Antitrust Division of the US Department of Justice, where she led the Division and oversaw the agency's enforcement, policy and advocacy priorities. Her government experience also includes serving on the White House Economic Council, where she was responsible for technology and telecommunications policy, advising on economic policy in the US Senate, and a decade at the Federal Trade Commission as an antitrust lawyer.

Gail has worked on some of the most significant antitrust matters of the past two decades, including landmark monopolization cases and high-profile merger reviews across the technology, entertainment, airline, telecommunications and broadcast sectors. She has also overseen enforcement of US criminal antitrust laws, and efforts to combat collusion and fraud in government procurement. In the private sector, Gail held senior roles at Fox Corporation and Roku.

"Antitrust has become an increasingly important boardroom issue, shaped by rapidly evolving legal, economic, political and technological forces," said White & Case Global Co-Head of Antitrust Rebecca Farrington. "Gail has been at the center of many of these developments, and her judgment and perspective will be invaluable to our clients both domestically and internationally. Together with the strength of our global practice, she further enhances our ability to anticipate change, navigate complex competition challenges and help our clients pursue their most important strategic objectives."

White & Case's Global Antitrust Practice advises clients on their most complex competition matters across the world's major markets, combining deep experience in merger control, investigations, litigation and regulatory counseling. The practice is consistently recognized among the world's leading antitrust teams and is ranked among the Top 5 "Global Elite" practices in the 2026 GCR 100.
