Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Technology Transactions Group and Global Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Practice with the addition of Linda Sim as a partner in Los Angeles.

"As the technology sector navigates an evolving regulatory landscape, it's a strategic priority to further expand our preeminent capabilities in technology transactions," said Arlene Arin Hahn, Global Head of White & Case's Technology Transactions Group. "Linda brings valuable expertise and over two decades of experience in leading complex IP and tech-driven transactions that will add additional depth to our already busy group. We are thrilled to continue to expand our West Coast practice, building on Linda's, and our wider team's, market-leading experience advising across the full spectrum of technology transactions matters."

Sim has deep experience advising on technology transactions involving software and data licensing, systems development and integration, SaaS and cloud-based services, digital media transactions, and IT and business outsourcing arrangements. She also advises on data security and privacy issues, including the General Data Protection Regulation and the California Consumer Privacy Act.

"Linda brings significant experience that will further bolster our ability to provide seamless service to our clients," said John Reiss, Head of White & Case's Global M&A Practice. "Her addition further builds on the recent investments we have made in our technology transactions and M&A practices, as we continue to expand our capabilities, and grow our market share on the West Coast."

Sim's arrival follows the recent additions of Burr Eckstut, who joined White & Case's Technology Transactions Group and Global M&A Practice as a partner in New York; Matthew Barnett, who joined the Firm's Global M&A Practice as a partner in Los Angeles, both in March 2022; and Shiva Sandill, who joined the Firm's Global M&A Practice as a partner in Chicago in June 2022.

For the sixth straight year, White & Case's Global M&A Practice was ranked by Mergermarket as being in the top-ten law firms by value and volume for 2021. For global M&A, the Firm was ranked number two by deal value and number four by deal volume for advising on 620 announced deals valued in excess of US$716 billion in 2021.
