Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised long-standing client Alpha Bank, one of the Greek systemic banks, on the agreement to dispose of a portfolio of approximately €240 million gross book value consisting of a mixed pool of secured non-performing loans (NPL) provided to Greek large corporate entities and small and medium size enterprises.

"We have supported Alpha Bank once again on its continued recalibration of its existing loan portfolio," said White & Case partner Debashis Dey, who led the Firm’s deal team. "This unique transaction demonstrates the next stage in the evolution of the NPL market in Greece, as banks begin to dispose of portfolios which have been securitised and migrated to third party servicers."

The White & Case team that advised on the international aspects of the transaction was led by partner Debashis Dey (Dubai and London) and included local partner Greg Pospodinis and associate Thomas Jacques (both Dubai).
