Biography

Amir is an associate in the Firm's Intellectual Property practice, where he represents clients in complex intellectual property and technology disputes, with a particular emphasis on patent and trade secret litigation. Amir has experience litigating IP cases in federal courts across the United States and at the US ITC, including matters involving cutting-edge technologies such as software, energy, and consumer products. He has been involved in all stages of patent litigation, from pre-suit investigations and fact discovery to motion practice, claim construction, and trial preparation.

Amir's background in computer engineering provides a strong foundation to advise on complex, technical patent matters. His deep knowledge of software, hardware, and emerging technologies enables him to effectively communicate technical concepts to judges, juries, and opposing counsel, ensuring that his clients' innovations are accurately represented and protected.

Amir received his law degree and a High Tech Law Certificate with honors from the Santa Clara University School of Law, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Santa Clara High Tech Law Journal. During law school, he gained valuable judicial experience as a judicial extern for the Honorable Beth Labson Freeman in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, where he worked on intellectual property cases. Amir also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from San Jose State University.

Representative matters:

Beijing Meishe Network Technology Co., Ltd. v. TikTok Inc., et al. (W.D. Tex., N.D. Cal.) – representing TikTok in a global copyright infringement and trade secret misappropriation matter involving copyrighted software technology.

Bloom Energy Corp. v. Plansee SE, et al. (E.D. Tex) – representing Bloom Energy in a complex international dispute with U.S. district court proceedings relating to no trade secret misappropriation, no patent infringement, unfair competition, tortious interference, RICO, Sherman Antitrust and claim for correction of inventorship.

East West Bank v. Aeldra Financial (N.D. Cal.) – representing fintech start-up Aeldra and its CEO in trade secret claims over onboarding technology for non-resident aliens. Compelled arbitration, dissolved preliminary injunction, and secured nearly $500,000 in attorneys' fees. See 2021 WL 6049912 (N.D. Cal. Dec. 20, 2021).

Sagent v. SN Servicing Corp. (N.D. Cal.) – representing Sagent in SaaS contract dispute involving cross-breach of contract claims and defending against business tort claims.
